All are welcome to Congregation Beth Hallel Birmingham. We are a Messianic Jewish congregation made up of Jews and Gentiles who together worship the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through relationship with the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). At every Beth Hallel service, study, and event, you will rejoice in the richness of Jewish traditions as we come together in unity, celebrating the Word of G-d from Genesis through Revelation. We are eager to meet you! Please contact us with any questions. Shalom, Rabbi David and Rebbetzin Leslye Schneier

Services at Beth Hallel are rich in Jewish traditions and contemporary worship styles.

  • Fridays at 7:00 p.m.

Our Shabbat service begins each Friday night at 7:00 and is filled with the presence of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). Elements of the service have been practiced since the time of Moses. You will hear the shofar blow and prayers from the Second Temple era similar to those heard and spoken by Yeshua.

We engage the L-rd through song and praise, including dancing the Torah around the sanctuary. We enter into the Holy of Holies through a moving time of worship. Be inspired and grow through messages grounded in Scripture and made alive in applications relevant to all. After service, join in ONEG, a time of fellowship over delicious food. Scripture tells us to “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." Exodus 20:8.

  • Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Join us each Saturday morning to study the first five books of the Bible, Torah. Torah means teaching. Each week, we examine together the Parashah that all Jewish synagogues read.

This time is used for teaching, questions, and congregational discussion. The relaxed instructional environment and lively exchanges between teacher and participants are time-honored methods of drawing closer to G-d and receiving revelation and wisdom through study. In particular, our congregants love ‘connecting the dots’ between the Tanakh and Brit HaDasha (Old and New Testaments).

  • Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tuesday mornings at 11:30 a.m., join us for a one hour look at the headlines as viewed from the perspective of Biblical prophecy.

What is unfolding before our eyes, today, that was prophesied long ago? Where are we in the end-time calendar? Are we always watching Israel, the place by which all world events must be measured? Understanding prophecy helps to equip us for today, and prepare us for tomorrow.

  • Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday night studies are on Summer Vacation, check back soon for more information.

Tuesday nights, a variety of studies provide discipleship, and stimulate thirst for the Word of G-d and relationship with the Holy One of Israel.

The lessons you learn at Yeshiva on Tuesday night will ignite a fire in someone else’s heart during the rest of the week.

Weekly Torah Portion

Reading the Word of G-d changes lives. At Beth Hallel, we follow a reading sequence that has existed for thousands of years, and yet is ‘new every day.’ It has three components: Parashah made up of Torah and Haftorah, and the Brit Hadasha.
